Over nearly three decades at the Hong Kong Bar, David has built a reputation as a deft, experienced criminal barrister, and was named by Doyle’s as a leading and preeminent criminal law counsel in 2022 and 2023 respectively. David appears regularly in District Court, at the High Court and at the Court of Final Appeal. David’s core areas of practice include murder and sexual offence cases as well as regulatory and financial crime, with an additional focus on appellate work. David handles these, among the SAR’s most serious charges, with an eye for detail and a well-known flair for advocacy in court regularly noted by clients and colleagues.

Beyond his work as counsel, David is committed to building a supportive chambers environment, with a particular emphasis on mentorship and career development for those new to the profession, as well as on pro bono work.
