Gretel joined Chambers in 2025 after serving pupillage with Mr. James Tze, Mr. Victor Gidwani, Mr. David Boyton and Mr. Erik Shum.

Prior to commencing pupillage, Gretel read law at the University of Reading and completed her PCLL at the University of Hong Kong with distinctions in subjects. Gretel gained significant experience in civil litigation during her tenure as a paralegal before joining the bar.

During her limited practice, Gretel has already appeared in different levels of Court, including District Court (led by Mr. David Boyton or as sole advocate) and the Magistrates’ Court.

Gretel is developing a mixed civil and criminal practice and accepts instructions in all areas of Chambers’ work.

Gretel is proficient in English, Cantonese and Mandarin. She is capable of delivering oral and written advocacy in English and Chinese (simplified and traditional) and is able to advise clients in both languages.

Apart from Chambers’ work, as a qualified dog-walker and an active member of various NGOs and animal sanctuaries, Gretel is keen to participate in all kinds of community / voluntary work.
