Nicklaus is a Middle Temple Scholar. He joined chambers in 2024 after completing his pupillage under Mr David Boyton, Ms Elizabeth Herbert, Mr Azan Marwah, and Mr Ronald Pang.

Nicklaus attended Diocesan Boys’ School in Hong Kong, and subsequently spent 10 years in the United Kingdom pursuing further studies, obtaining a BSc in Economics from the University of Warwick and an LLB from King’s College London. He then returned to Hong Kong and completed both his LLM and his PCLL at the University of Hong Kong, obtaining a distinction in the former, which led to his pupillage and eventual call to the Bar. 

Nicklaus has experience across a wide range of legal areas, and has appeared both as a sole advocate and a led junior within various levels of courts and tribunals. He is fluent in English, Cantonese, and Putonghua, with native proficiency in reading and writing all three languages. 

Apart from actively developing his practice, Nicklaus also takes a keen interest in giving back to society, and is involved in various areas of public work with the aim of bettering the city and fostering the next generation of talent.
